Lebanon the Birthplace of Mediterrean life, culture and cuisine

According to some accounts, Tyre is the oldest city in the world.

It is thought to have been founded in the year 5 800 B.C. Its name was at the root of the world used to describe the first Holy Book, the Bible, for it was at Lebanon that the alphabet was born.

Nobody can remain indifferent to Lebanon. Its history, location and role in the Mediterranean make it the caretaker of the region's origins, its secrets.

Lebanon was in ancient times the trading center of the Phoenician coast, and the heart of trade and culture of the eastern Mediterranean.The Pharaons bought Cedar trees and copper there to build their ships. Wine, livestock, the wares of the local farmers and artisans, all were traded at Lebanon, and taken to other civilizations and cultures along the Mediterranean coastline.All of cultures of the Mediterranean drew from Lebanon culture and also contributed to it because of its role in the mediteranean way of life.
